sƃuıpɹoɔɹǝɹ:ǝɹ / a square six

As this is the 1st sƃuıpɹoɔɹǝɹ:ǝɹ post, it seem fitting to explain a bit. As it is now 2012 and my a poem for today new year's resolution is in effect, I thought I would go back and try to provide audio for as many of the poems that are not Sorted(sonnets) posted on the blog this year as I could. This is the first bunch - 5 poems that ran back in January and February from a short manuscript that ended at five poems, now dubbed collectively a square six. Follow that link and read them all while listening along.

2.24.2012

a poem for today "passing off" [NOW WITH AUDIO!]

passing off
passing off sawbucks as pock marks smile-like
no, no more passing off suspend the invelion or
no, no more like dismajereyan
but I went back to sleep, and that was
but I went out like supreme consciosness come down hard the nexty morning
next you know I meant that favor filled mulled uber / something here /
next you know nix trills und kicks whilst us'ns
but still here found stumped under a lump post / was action meat
but still  more did I say that or was that memory fallbackmixed shades
pick up sticks doofy shouters across the way sample the bell game
pick up sticks and grant shakers untoo all

[there are 4 other poems in this sequence one, two, three, four and this one, all a part of a square six and you can now listen as well as read]

2.23.2012

a poem for today "putting off" [NOW WITH AUDIO!]

putting off
putting off what would have had to get put off
cause that's the bingo affect of these towns
cause that's the just the way they do it
incorporate then externalize or rather
incorporate and flush it through with lots of water
don't let's not forget to check in somewhere
don't let's never something even for a moment
something is in the house, something is also
something  is the antithesis of it and to
get around to it will take the better part
get around now and up with the hands

[this poem is related to three other poems already posted 1, 2 & 3 and the one due to appear tomorrow, but that is the end of this aborted manuscript known as a square six]

1.30.2012

a poem for today "getting to" [NOW WITH AUDIO]

getting to patience
getting to universal plug but its
gesture unreturned sort of bugged it then its
gesture unregarded swiped kuchen
made a run for it lama said to  sort of get
made a bit like biting is bit
forgive us bunny I’m having an oozing fit
forgive us those gloves again (we puked)
raison setter a, I don’t know who is calling
raison settera perhaps but again unsure
so I beat a treat and reappeared later
so I hadn’t any tables to cart back
gotta go for the rides all leave and I’d
gotta go hadn’t another beat to wait

[another in the sequence with taking back and putting up, collectively known as a square six]

1.28.2012

a poem for today "putting up" [NOW WITH AUDIO!]

putting up
putting up laundry
landing in the darkness of a bud light
landing in trees night quiet engine
eye play over there by the telephone
I play bingo at the charity hall
folded into this night, this is the sheets talking
folded into fist and singing barks the dog dare wind-o-frame cracks
there have I done it capped it with ululations
there have reactions on one and the other hands
but don’t tell me about it ever lest I use lest
but don’t put me up to it neither
I say phooey (lasting implications are forgotten again)
I say phooey twiced

[this is one of the 5 that goes with taking back from yesterday and which dates back to Sept 2009 - the group of poems is called a square six]

1.27.2012

a poem for today "taking back" [NOW WITH AUDIO!]

[AUDIO]

taking back
taking back that branded and eggs tarry what had the band of
like I said before trash speching und ich dint get it in time now err buzzaleirt
like I said taking back before
but meant it not did I as mumbled at it did pancake me there
but meant instead instead something else immer rag dimmer lariart premoon
slake my mumble ich all ways anyways maybe teams that dissolve toward one to
slake my mochte for a heiz kis sie scrumptious on a divan
I’ll take anything the time is limited spread buttons on me
I’ll take any plenary speaker and amp set canned hand damp lit page of
mice-like slanderers cagey and slumped (I take it back) they were
mice-like slanders purrfect for the split (I take it back)
tarry there and derive profound motives for overdue books
tarry there and get off my front porch (I take it back)

['taking back' is the first of five poems in a small manuscript called a square six, that I last tinkered with on 21 September 2009 in Mainz, another will run tomorrow and maybe the day after and the rest at the end of February or thereabouts. Click the a square six label to read and hear them all]
