Birthday Acrostic

Waltz Across Connecticut

what if in all the wild fail of conjunctions
as if it were beginning to exist, the machine started up
like it was forcing its way into our speech
like a form of things dove underneath bright air
and the snow that's gone went from blue to sharp null
cutting yr impervious narrative to a brainstorm or
even a rhetorical question on torn scraps or

sequences in green gibberish in vital ruins--
take apart a house bit by bit it's old trees
even a rhetorical answer on shredded stationery
veers you back behind the sentence (plotting words);
even summer stammers when eyes shut up;
not a rhetoric of nakedness just cold in the humidity
so the shine in a bagged world is now staggered
