May 5, 2010 Meeting Recordings

Only one recording from this week (seems odd). It is a rehearsal of a piece for the ACAC show, and would eventually become titled "the 'group', unrelated, is dependent on the present (in order for it, unrelated, to be in the present)-", a quote from Leslie Scalapino. The piece is for four performers. There are 5 stations around a room, and station has slips of paper with text on it. A performer starts at a station and picks up slips, reading/performing them, dropping each one after completing it. The performer then moves on to the next station and gathers slips there, and does the same thing again. The piece ends when the last performer stops. Vocal variables (e.g., volume, speed, expressivity) are left to the performers.
